An Appeal court sitting in Makurdi, Benue state has nullified the election of former Senate President and lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District, David Mark.
The court faulted the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare Mr. Mark, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, winner of the March 28 senatorial election in Benue south.
David Mark’s purported victory at the polls was challenged by Daniel Onjeh, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He claimed that INEC declared the result of the election while collation was ongoing.
However, the court has ordered a rerun of the election within 90 days.
