It all started as a means to an end due to a nasty skin condition has now earned Julia Gnuse a spot in the Guinness Book of World Record.
Also known as the ‘illustrated lady’, Julia has 95% of her body covered in ink, ranging from jungle scenes and cartoons to her favorite actors.
She started getting the tattoos after developing a rare medical condition known as porphyria, which caused her skin to blister when exposed to sunlight and left scars as deep as three-degree burn. Although, there was medication available but taking it could have resulted in possible blindness. Thus she resigned herself to the body art — eventhough the ink did not stop her skin from blistering, atleast it covered up the scars and allowed her to be exposed to the sun.
