A pastor of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry on Sunday, February 19, 2017, kicked against Ponzi schemes which are becoming prevalent in the country, describing them as satanic for the fact that they are not approved by regulating financial bodies in the country.
Speaking to his congregation in Asaba, the Delta state capital, Pastor Enoch Egwu warned all members of the church to desist from all Ponzi schemes, saying:
We thank God that MMM has closed, others are there. If you are into any of them, you are not a child of God.
The Pastor said that the Ponzi schemes, which many claim had changed their lives in this period of recession, are not of God, are satanic and should be avoided by Christians.
If you are doing any of them, come out. No economic theory is in support of Ponzi schemes in the country. The Central Bank of Nigeria and other financial institutions are against it.
Egwu, who insisted that the growing Ponzi schemes are indication of the last days, called on Christians to engage in recognized businesses to make their living, adding that Christians should be productively engaged as such would receive the blessing of God.
