In a trail of tweets, the Niger Delta Avengers have openly admitted to blowing up another oil pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) yesterday, May 26th, which they claimed was heavily guarded by the military. The group also called out the Niger Delta stakeholders over their meetings which held in the region, stating that they want a sovereign state and not pipeline contracts. While explaining how they blew up the pipeline in Warri, the group tweeted:
Eric Omare, spokesman for the Ijaw Youth said “The large gas and crude pipeline that came under attack is located near Warri, Delta state.” He added, that there were two simultaneous attacks on PPMC and NNPC.
This incident is coming just days after the militant group admitted to bombing the main pipeline supplying gas that provides electricity to the Escravos tank farm in Delta state owned by Chevron.
