According to reports, some ISIS terrorists have gruesomely murdered an Indian priest whom they abducted earlier this month.
The priest, Father Tom Uzhunnalil, was allegedly seized when four armed militants stormed an old people’s home in Aden, Yemen on March 4 and was crucified on Good Friday to mock the Christians.
His execution by the Islamist sect, using the same method used by the Romans on Jesus and marked on Good Friday every year, was confirmed at the Easter Vigil Mass by Cardinal Christoph Schonborn of Vienna.
Father Uzhunnalil, a native of India was captured in a raid where 16 other people were killed including four nuns. Bishop Paul Hinder, who heads the Catholic Church in Yemen, said the Missionaries home had been the object of numerous threats but they refused to leave.
The Franciscan Sisters of Siessen had last week, posted on Facebook, reports that the Salesian priest would be crucified in a brutal murder on Good Friday and sought for prayers for him.
However, Pope Francis on Sunday honoured the slain nuns and reverend father as martyrs.
