The governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has warned the Federal Government and Nigerians alike of an impending doom, far worse than the deadly Boko Haram insurgents that have been causing havoc in the country.
The Governor who also doubles as the Chairman of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum gave the warning during a courtesy visit by a team from the United Nations led by the resident coordinator, Ms. Fatma Samoura.
The Governor said:
Boko Haram may be an appetizer for worse things to come unless we put our thinking caps on.
The signals are there all over, the North is going to be inhabited by over 70 percent of Nigeria in 2050 when the nation’s population is expected to be the third largest in the world with over 400 million people.
There has to be concerted effort from the rest of the world to handle the disaster waiting to happen.
