Wayne Rooney has become the highest goalscorer in the Manchester United English club after scoring a thumping free-kick against Stoke City over the weekend.
Rooney was introduced into the game with just 20 minutes left as Man Utd trailed the Potters 1 – 0 at the Bet365 stadium.
Joe Allen fell Marcus Rashford on the left and Rooney stood up to score his 250 goal for Manchester United.
The record was previously held by Sir Bobby Charlton with 249 goals which Rooney equalled against Reading in the FA Cup.
However, the match against Stoke City ended 1 – 1 as United remain in sixth position, five points ahead of Everton.
